The Research and Treatment Center for Arterial Hypertension and Global Cardiovascular Risk of the Hospital da Senhora da Oliveira/University of Minho and the School of Medicine of the University of Minho organized the 5th International Postgraduate Course on Arterial Stiffness and Early Vascular Aging. The event took place from November 9th to 11th and included the participation of Identisoft.
According to Dr. Pedro Guimarães Cunha, this is the only European course dedicated exclusively to arterial stiffness and early vascular aging. The course promoted knowledge about the use of arterial stiffness and central blood pressure as biomarkers of cardiovascular risk and explored their relationship with vascular and cognitive deterioration.
The training also integrated the application of these biomarkers in various cardiovascular and cardiometabolic pathologies. It was held under the auspices of several European and Portuguese scientific societies, reinforcing the certification and relevance of the course. The edition also included a session dedicated to clinical research, with contributions from centers in Portugal and Spain.
The event brought together national and international speakers and was aimed at physicians and researchers interested in cardiovascular risk. The Organizing Committee included Dr. Pedro Guimarães Cunha, Dr. George Cotter, and Dr. Nuno Sousa.
